It actually gave me feels! That never fucking happens with novellas! It just felt so much longer than it actually was. I was honestly so surprised by this novella. It really delves into the dream side of the world. the story is from orphan girl’s POV and follows Ronan and Adam over the summer after the events in The Raven King. This little story has really set us up for the Ronan trilogy that we are getting at some point in the future. It was only 40 pages long but Stiefvater packed so much into those 40 pages. last week I finished the Raven King and decided to read Opal, which is set after it. So naturally, I looked it up and then brought it. I had never heard of this novella, never seen anyone talking about, I didn’t even know that it existed. I stumbled across this little novella by accident a few weeks ago when I was listing The Raven King as a currently reading book on Goodreads. Yep, today it is all about Opal by Maggie Stiefvater. It is bonus book review time! What! I have been doing loads of these recently! Anywho, today’s review is for a novella based in the Raven Cycle universe.
